Please read the information on the About pages (which includes details of rehearsal dates and times) before filling in the form.
Please complete the form to show your interest in booking a place for your child to join the choir. Booking is on a first come first served basis. Once you have filled in the form we will contact you to let you know whether you have secured a place and provide you with details of how to pay (or confirm your free place if you have requested one). If we sell out before you secure a place, you will automatically be added to the waiting list for the next term and we’ll let you know that we have done that.
It is only possible to register one child per email address – if you have more than one child aged 8-12 who is interested in joining the choir, please select the number of children you wish to register in the form and we’ll be in touch to find out the details for your other children. We’ll do our best to allocate spaces to every child in a family group if you register at the same time, and if there are fewer spaces available than you need, we’ll let you know the situation.
Once you have filled in the form and clicked on the “sign up” button, you will receive an automatically generated email from our mail client, MailChimp, asking you to confirm your subscription by clicking on a link. Once you have completed that process, you will have been added to the registration list for the next available term.
The choir will run for 3 terms per year, and each choir member will book a place at the start of each term. If you complete the sign up form after a term has begun, we’ll contact you when it is time to book for the next term.
Please check your spam folder for any emails that might have gone astray. Emails will usually be sent from “Love Music Productions Ltd” or “firstname.lastname@example.org”, so once you receive an email from us, add us to your address book to ensure our emails land in your inbox.
The cost for the next term is £32, which is payable in advance of the term starting. Details of how to pay will be sent to you when we confirm your place(s).
We have reserved half the choir places for people who can’t afford to pay. If you require a free place for your child or children, please select that option on the form. Please only apply if your need is genuine.
If you would like to help support the junior choir with a further donation, please click on the DONATE box on our website footer. This will take you to our TotalGiving page which is helping us to raise funds specifically for Junior Choir.
How we use your data
We will use your email address to send you information about choir membership booking, rehearsals and performances. We will use the information about your child to help us decide which house team they will be part of (we aim to have an even range of ages, genders and schools in each group so that the children can make new friends). We share your names, child’s age and school, and your phone number with the house group chaperones responsible for your child – this information is provided only on paper on choir days and is not kept/taken away by chaperones. It is provided to chaperones in order to help support your child and for speed of the Love Music team contacting you if there is a problem during rehearsal.
In terms which involve a performance, the name, date of birth and address of your child will be included in a performance licence application to the City of Edinburgh Council licencing department. Organisations with which children perform in events outwith school time are required to apply for a licence for each child taking part under the Children (Performances and Activities) (Scotland) Regulations 2014. If you object to this information being shared, we will not be able to include your child in any public performances – we are happy to discuss with you whether they will still enjoy taking part in rehearsals without taking part in the concert.
How we use photos, filmed footage and evaluation comments
We use photos, films, and anonymised comments made during project evaluation on the Junior Choir website and other Love Music websites, and on printed materials such as brochures, posters and fliers to promote the choir and its events. We use photos, films and all evaluation findings (always anonymised) in funding applications and reports, as these hugely support our applications and help funders to see the impact that their grants have had, or will have, during the project.
You are entitled to change your mind about your consent at any time. If you do, please let us know and we’ll ensure the your child’s image is not used, and that their comments are not quoted, as soon as we can after we hear from you.
