If you are interested in your child taking part, please read the information on the pages listed under the About menu before filling in the form – this includes details of our rehearsal dates and times.
If you are happy to proceed, please fill out the form to join our mailing list and you’ll be asked to confirm your email address before your details are added to our system (sometimes the confirmation email lands in people’s spam folders so please do check there, and get in touch if you’ve not received it). When there’s a chance to book a place in the choir we’ll email you with booking info about that term and a more detailed form to complete. It may be helpful to add our email address to your contacts to help ensure our emails are not classed as spam.

How we use photos, filmed footage & evaluation comments
We use photos, films, and anonymised comments on the Junior Choir website, other Love Music websites and social media, and on printed materials such as brochures, posters and fliers to promote the choir and its events. We use photos, films, comments and evaluation findings (always anonymised) in funding applications and reports, as these hugely support our applications and help funders to see the impact that their grants have had, or will have, during the project.
You are entitled to change your mind about your consent at any time. If you do, please let us know and we’ll ensure that your child’s image is not used, or is blurred, and that their comments are not quoted, as soon as we can after we hear from you.
How we use your data synopsis
For full details about how we use your data, please read our privacy policy.
- We will use your email address to send you information about choir membership booking, rehearsals and performances.
- We will use the information about your child to help us decide which house team they will be part of – we aim to have an even range of ages, genders and schools in each group so that the children can make new friends.
- We share your child’s name, age, school, and your phone number with the house group chaperones responsible for your child – this information is provided only on paper on choir days and is not retained by chaperones; it is provided in order to support your child and for speed of us contacting you if there is a problem during rehearsal.
- In terms which involve a performance, the name, date of birth and address of your child will be included in a performance licence application to the City of Edinburgh Council licencing department. Organisations with which children perform in events outwith school time are required to apply for a licence for each child taking part under the Children (Performances and Activities) (Scotland) Regulations 2014. If you object to this information being shared, we will not be able to include your child in any public performances – we are happy to discuss with you whether they will still enjoy taking part in rehearsals without taking part in the concert.
